I stand alone
as I gaze at the beauty before me, I stand alone.
My pulse heavy and my eyes filled with solid intent.
These eyes follow a ghost without flesh, without bone.
My inspiration is before me yet doesn't exist, isn't meant.
*
I look and feel sharp. Warm, friendly and intelligent.
What does that mean to a ghost who doesn't care?
I'm surrounded by my life, yet distracted from reality.
I flex my muscles, grooming my hair hoping she will stare.

Essence of Her
The morning light, stars that shine bright.
A childs laughter, the angels hereafter.
Of all that is good is the essence of her.
Peace & Beauty, Sensuality and Laughter.
I remember her touch, her breath on my face
in that not so quite imaginery place.
The essence of her I need to survive.

Perhaps it's getting too crowded in here? I didn't think other guests would be writing poetry in the same place as I. Lacie & Rogue, you both have been kind enough, please tell me. Is there a more quiet place for me to express myself without guest #2,3 or 4 interfering? I don't intend to be anti-social or rude. I'd just like some quiet space.

I was the rude one not you #2. To think that anyone has a copyright on anonymity and/or ownership of public space. I just felt that My Message may become obscurred by your expressions. I'm new here and not familiar with ropes yet. Perhaps I'll register a name so we may distinguish ourselves. "SNOW" is my name.

Hello Original Poem Poster

I really like your poems, as did others that chat in Tir na nOg. It seems you 'sparked' somthing in the creative process of some, and they too wished to give something of themselves along the same theme, with the same cloak of privacy you did - as a guest.

As our boards are wonderfully open and public, I guess the easiest way you can post here, and have no one mistake your work for the work of others, is to take Rogue's advice, and choose a name. It need not be a name that gives any hint to your identity. The other alternative to ensure your own space, would be to create a simple home page, and post the URL here, to allow visitors to the Message Boards to take the URL and visit.

I hope this helps you ...

"The Rain of Laughter"
The rain of laughter ignites me.
Your story unfolds as a pain in my side.
Listening intently to nonsense I cry.
I fight for composure embarrassed and red,
and you and I sprawling heels over head.
We have always been one, in laughter and pain
But the Rain of Laughter is now lost in vain.

Top of pagePrevious messageNext messageBottom of pageLink to this message  By Rogue on Sunday, January 9, 2000 - 11:24 am:

Welcome Snowynight...*smile*...as for the ropes,we have few if any...although most prose and poetry is posted under the link "Muse - Inspired by the Tir", you are free to post your art on any of our walls....as to copyrights to your art, and Acc will correct me if I'm wrong here, that is covered under the rules of Bern Convention, governing electronic transmission of copyrighted material. At this site you'll notice that your posts are date and time stamped, along with the nom de plume of the person posting, and if you have created an account and logged a valid email address with Acc, and if you include copyright notification, i.e. "Rogue c 2000", then your art is protected.

As for the nom de plumes themselves...they save lots of confusion as can be seen here, although they are NOT a neccessity...we welcome all guests and we get many. Although one has taken up permanent residence and you can tell her by her "cheeky smile" and the devilish glint in her eyes...hehehe.

As for a quiet place...perhaps you might want to create you own message board under "Muse - Inspired by the Tir", some have two or three, or continue here as you see fit and is comfortable for you.....however, art, the calilbre of yours, will create a bit of a stir...*smile*...so it may not be quiet for long...LOL...it comes with the territory of being a writer.

Now about peception of time and place, the web covers all times zones and we have writers and readers from all of them. Because this site exists on the screens of monitors everywhere and and every time, it is exactly what it proports to to be...Tir na Nog...Land of Forever Young...there is no time but now and no place but here...here the Celtic legend is true. Welcome.

"Immortal Beloved"
It was too long ago and far away when we first locked glances.
So long ago it seems like a dream to me, but fresh as a rose to me.
Our eyes locked and our faces became flush with excitement.
We yearned to be together on that heavenly day, what happened?
I close my eyes and the dream unfolds before me.
The early morning darkness is full of your sweet smell,
The candle almost gone, burns dimly at best.
I hold you, we giggle, then passionately kiss.
We tremble with desire and both get undressed.
With excitment and passion we fall into bliss,
while our Angels looked over I knew we were blessed.
I taste your persperation, I stare in your eyes,
Our union so perfect I thought I would cry.
I love you my darling, from now to forever,
and I'll find you as that is my lifes one endeavour.
Where are you my Immortal Beloved?

Welcome Snowynight !

The 'regs' have advised you correctly.
Any posts by Snowynight are now down to you alone.

If you start a 'New conversation' under Muse, and post a first message requesting people not to add works, most people will respect that.

Copyright:
Everything that you write is copyright to yourself unless you specifically place it in the public domain or assign copyright to some other entity.
Detection of infringement and enforcement of copyright is 'an entirely different matter'.
If you find your work used without permission, write to the site owner and ask for it to be removed (or attributed). If no satisfaction, write to the hosting organisation.
If someone is making money out of your work, you can get them. If the someone is simply a misguided fantasiser(?), say hello to them and let them make of their lives what they can.

Relax - someone, somewhere, sometime is going to pass off your work as their own. It's very annoying, especially when you first experience it. However, in the greater plan of things it's simply an irritation.

THE FEARLESS !!
A young boy walks the sunken tide,
his freedom complete he has no guide.
His parents all lathered lie down for a rest,
This youngin stands up now and begins his test.
He captures his crabs, his creatures, his fish,
He's fearless, A sailor and makes him a wish.
To be Captain and stranded on this desert isle,
with no one to bother him now for a while.
But sooner than later a cutie comes by,
He blushes and stutters his mouth all adry.
She stands there before him awaiting his word,
And he tries his best not to act like a nerd.
May I play she says in the softest of tone,
The young boy smiles warmly no longer alone.

Note:
None of what follows is me geting at anybody in particular - So don't read anything into it.
The comments should be interpreted as general advice.

There is no G2.

People posting under a handle or as 'guest' should always avoid making personal remarks.
The rule could be summarised as "If you have nothing good to say, say nothing."

Anybody can post as 'guest', so there is no guarantee that any post by a guest is from the same person who posted a particular message before (even if they claim to be that person).
Any series of posts by 'guest' can not be taken as the debating position of a real person.

From my lofty pontiff-style vantage point, I can see in the server logs the IP that each and every post comes from. Anyone considering the use of an extra handle or the guest handle in order to stir things should keep this in mind.

Settle down now kiddies :)

There is nothing wrong with using 'guest' or using more than one handle, although it is polite to assume a single handle and use it for posting.

Sheeeesh!
While I'm in the flow, here's another handle-ownership point:
Marbeg has posted - "Marbeg is Snowynight"
This can't be taken as true by readers until they see a post by the Snowynight handle confirming this.

Please understand that I am unable to sit and express myself for a competition. I cannot sit and write to rhyme to see how many feelings I can expose to you. That is so uninspiring it's not fair. I'll bow to G2 or Feathre or anyone else instead of belittling myself. G2 I'd much prefer your friendship instead. DEAL?

"Soul Mates" by Harvyson Chroney

"Soul Mates"
(Destined to Be...Until The End of Time)

Your act, your state of mind
Your concern and the whole nine.
I can't help believe it but I'm hoping it's true.
You love me already but not the kind of love we're used to.

Not the kind of love that fades,
Not the kind of love that hates,
Not the kind of love we're used to.
You felt me before I even met you,
You wiped my tears before I even met you,

You listened to my song, you knew the story of my heart,
My aches and my pains all of this before I even met you.
You knew my name, not that of my given birth but how to call upon me.
My attention, interest and trust you knew it all.

The fantasies that I've once told you, you're making a reality.
A deeper love more intellectual than superficial,
A love that's premeditated, thought of, dreamt of.
A love fantasized about even before I met you.

I know it was you.
I remember when they hurt me
And each time you tasted my tears,
I didn't have a picture simply because
I didn't feel your flesh; it was deeper.

Your soul touched mine and they kissed.
But that was a while ago when they said we'd meet again
And now here we are, in the flesh and we meet
But you loved me, even before I met you.

*************************************************
Please contact me,
I'd like to exchange poetry with you both.

When our two souls stand up erect and strong,
Face to face, silent, drawing nigh and nigher,
Until the lengthening wings break into fire
At either curvéd point, -- what bitter wrong
Can the earth do to us, that we should not long
Be here contented ? Think. In mounting higher,
The angels would press on us, and aspire
To drop some golden orb of perfect song
Into our deep, dear silence. Let us stay
Rather on earth, Belovèd, -- where the unfit
Contrarious moods of men recoil away
And isolate pure spirits, and permit
A place to stand and love in for a day,
With darkness and the death-hour rounding it.

Okay, okay... I think I got this figured out.
Marbeg (Snowynight, Martin) posted first, and then Lacie Rogue and I (as a Guest at the time) all commented on the poetry. And then comes Calypsopoet (Everyone's assumption as G2). And then Peter Pan comes in, as (as a boy refusing to grow up). Martin feels uncomfortable with the praise and adoration from me, the first Guest to comment after Lacie and Rogue, see above referenced swooning). Rogue isssues a poetry challenge/duel. And then Martin is wanting to know who claims the entry of SOULMATES (dedicated to Cushla mo cHroi)... but he's also pondering the duel aspect of this.... Right???????????????????????????????????????????????????????????????????/

Okay, I think I have the answers. Seriously~

I CLAIM FULL RESPONSIBILITY FOR THE FOLLOWING:
The Guest that swooned with Lacie and Rogue.
The Guest that was offended at the lack of privacy comment *I was sincerely complimenting*
I am Feathre, with latent manical and wenchlike tendencies.
I posted the dedicated poem, "Soulmates" to Cushla mo cHroi (Who is quite possibly, Peter Pan.)
I am ready to except the dueling poets challenge, but only if Accasbel will program the accompanying "Dueling Banjo's Theme song"

Now, are we all clear, or did I just prematurely eradicate?

*offers velvet gloved hand of friendship* Martin, please post more? I'll show you mine, if you show me yours.

Well, I shall start this 5 poem posting thing, but two thoughts. First, let's not consider it competitve, but rather a showcase of words near and dear to the heart, and secondly, I don't write poetry. I simply read it, appreciate it and share it with others.

The appreciation part is how I came to be here in the first place Mar/Snow~

here's a little something to start off the 5 poem posts...

A Winter Embrace
by Rickinkorea

You’re in my arms as the sun sets
Wind screams at the window in the darkness
The night is cold, but we’re warm, safe
This moment, though in my mind, is vivid

Your hair is soft against my cheek
The sweet scents of Spring in December
Your breath is a warm whisper in my ear
Expressing love without words

Your body fits perfectly with mine
Your skin, like silk, electrifies me
God made the two of us to be one
And gave us this gift, this perfect moment

In my mind, we more than make love, we are love
No beginning; no end; timeless; continuous
Our bodies become one in pleasure
Pleasure that only we will ever know

My love for you justifies my existence
It wakes me to the miracle of life
The wind is gone; there is only us
Your ageless beauty is my air, my water, my sun

and this one I dedicate to all Tir Wenches...what do you think girls????...

The Blessed Wench
by Sondra ruhlander

Suddenly awakened, her body quivering with cold sweat
Her eyes stained with tears, from
an almost cryptic like dream.
Aroused by an lustrous light around her,
Mystified, by the majestic radiance of the moon
Could this all be an illusion?
A regal prince, a mighty nobelman, a true Knight,
Whose love hath no barriers?
Searching over and over ,her minds eye.
"Thou forsakes all others, for thine own heart?"
Passion ,from a true love, a trusted love.
Hers loins aching, with desire, almost too weak to stand.
She looks away from the darkness,
Into the flickering candles ,that enlighten her room.
Her eyes, filled with tears from disbelief,
He reaches for her,
She cautiously leans into his strong,
Yet tender arms, she cries out to him,
"Thou cannot be real, I must still be dreaming"
He replies with a tightened embrace,
"My love, how could thy heart be still in a dream?"
"When only just now, thou hast awakened to life,
and Love?!"

My heart has been tossed upon a remorseless ocean.
Shake within in me the lost dreams of my passion.
I lift my head into the wind tossed spray.
I placed the fabric of my life to be frayed by your meaningless, careless fashion?
All along there was a heavy price to be paid for this impulsive action.
I can not move my lips to speak.
My eyes tell the story well enough.
To those that have the depth to hear.
No farewells to you do I say.
Regrets for all the world to see,
etched upon my cheek.

His Eyes
by Carissma

Loved when all I knew were his eyes
At first sight as he stood alone in the middle of a crowd--
All I saw
Were his eyes.

Never felt a connection like it
A breath between us could be miles
Didn't matter
Unknowingly encapsulated in him
And the eyes I gave my heart to.

Hearing incoherent echoes of words unspoken
Never said
Didn't matter
A million things muttered through the silence between us
My unconscious words somehow in his eyes.

Uncertain future
Fate takes my hand
Brings me to him

Loved when all I knew were his eyes
The eyes
I unknowingly gave my heart to
So so long ago.

My emotions have been tossed upon a remorseless ocean.
Rattle within me the lost dreams of my passions
I lift my head toward the wind thrown spray
Watching the fabric of my life frayed by your careless fashion.
A heavy price to be paid, be sure, for this impulsive action.
My lips do not move to speak

No farwells do I say

A Final Take From My Thoughts
by NikiCee

Our unspoken bond.
It resounds extremely strong.

It is our secret glue.
For a friendship as unique as me and you.

We love on a level most lack to understand.
A level created in the air between us.

Friends with a whisper of something more.

A cunningly simple recipe of shoulders to cry on and jokes to laugh at.

A gentle balance that tends to sway with the wind our breath creates through words we speak with hidden meanings.

These words we say,
too often perhaps,
may reveal hints of a truth so fragile.

Still we go our seperate ways.
One of these days our paths will cross,
where the words will fit,
the meanings will be clear,
and you and I will seal the gap left between us.

I remember my first kiss.
T'was from a gal that I adored, The sweet heart of my life.
I was only 17 at the time, young and innocent for a boy.
I was sitting on a fence, quite comfortable in my situation.
At least thats what I tried to tell myself as she moved in.
I wanted her to make the first step, I was frozen scared.
Her devlish smile toasted me, my heart thumping like a fast train.
As she got closer I screamed with desire but still couldn't move.
She wrapped her arms around me and kissed me, we melted together.
I had never experienced anything so wonderful in my life.
We kissed passionately and lovingly for a good 30 seconds or so.
When she was finished she backed off, gazing at me with admiration.
I felt so powerless, blushing bright red and feeling a bit dizzy.
As I tried to regain my composure it happened just like that.
I accidentally flipped backwards off the fence and fell to the ground.
We never kissed again, we just became friends and drifted apart.
A true story from the life of Marbeg

Wait a moment Wait a moment

Be right back. Be right back

I have a great deal of enthusiasim for this topic.

It might take more than a moment.

A fortenight give me.

And a first felt rendition you will see.

As your thoughts keep getting better.

It's your feelings that matter.

Me, I will sit and ponder.

As I let my mind wander

Back to the days of my unblemished desire.

Bad spelling can be lethal. For example, the greedy Seriph of Al-Yabi was cursed by a badly-educated deity and for some days everything he touched turned to Glod, which happened to be the name of a small dwarf from a mountain community hundreds of miles away who found himself magically dragged to the kingdom and relentlessly duplicated. Some two thousand Glods later the spell wore off. These days, the people of Al-Yabi are renowned for being remarkably short and bad-tempered.~cls~

"Mis-Perceptions"
Dreams and Love, Friendship & Inspiration.
These are complete lies for people of Desperation!
Honestly folks, just think back.
Are things ever what they're supposed to be?
Dreams shattered, Love Lost or never realized.
Friendships betray and Inspirations fade.
If someone were to Dream then they tease death.
If someone were to dare Love they betray themselves.
Realize your Love before you are betrayed.
Realize your Dreams before they kill you.
For I have been tortured a 1000 times only to
come to these conclusions.
For True Love never dies it consumes you.
Happily or Hellishly the consumption complete.
And I dream and die daily.

Ah, but let's keep in mind that not all in the world of poetry is love and flowers...take these, for example:

Descend the way that leads to hell infernal
Plunge in a deep gulf where crime's inevitable
Flagellated by a wind driven from skies eternal
Where all your torments, and for all the ages
Mad Shadows never at the end of your desires
Shall never satisfy your furious rages
And your chastisement be born of loveless fires.

...and:

The sleep is still in my eyes,
The dream is still in my head.
I heave a sigh and sadly smile and lie awhile in bed.
I wish that it might come to pass
Not fade like all my dreams:
I don't think that I can carry on
Carry on this cold and empty life.
My spirits are low in the depths of despair,
My lifeblood
Spills over...

If I lead you through the music, If I call you will you dance?
If I whisper sweet endearments will your heart begin to glow?
If I bended down upon one knee and swore forevermore?
If I lead will you follow, If I call will you come?
*
If you called me I would follow, if you asked me I would die,
for the love of such a woman, I'd be happy to comply.
If you thought that we'd be better off by staying far apart,
I would bow to all your wishes, I would swear to every part.
*
If we found it in each other that the light is truly lit.
If our spirits found our bodies and our bodies became one,
If we took each other solemnly with God's approving smile,
Then I'd humble myself knowing all the beauty that is won.

It is difficult to loose anything at Tir na nOg, Marbeg.

I have been known to attempt creative writing, Marbeg ... nothing that matches the skills of Feathre or yourself. You can read my stuff on my demise. Trust me, though, it isn't worth sending someone to finish me off.

I'm not sure I agree with you about my skills. I just speak from the heart and whatever it is, it works for me. FEATHRE unfortunately chose to compare other peoples words with mine. I wonder what happened to her own expressions? I'm certain whatever you write Lacie will also come from your heart. Please, by all means share something of yourself?

What happened to Tir's Poetry?

"As If"
As if to say I knew you here,
as if to say I touched you.
As if it mattered what I thought,
as if you cared so little.
But by and by we struggle on
as if we both were thinking,
that someone else, or someplace else
would suit us more the better.
As if I missed you and I cried,
as if you thought you missed me.
As if no matter what we tried,
we loved each other any.
*
And I try, and I try, and I try with
all my might, to understand what's
happening to me and what it's all about.
And I give, and I give, and I give
with all my heart, so that they'll know
I'm genuine and that I am not a louse.
But the cloud gets darker as the curse
still lingers on.
As if I were here and you were there in
different time and places,
But we know better, don't we?

Ode to Cyber Space
(actually not an ode really but........)

I met more real poeople here than there
The so called real world
had a different kind of fun as well
Took some chances not always good
But in the end
As my favourite beatle said
The love you get is equal to........

Similarly like the real Tir na nOg and the Anglo Camelot the shining spirits have faded from this place. A once "GLORIOUS EXPERIENCE" in human relations, good times and quick witted banter.
There are many imprints that have been left upon minds and hearts. Battles no matter how small were waged here and nonetheless, sooner or later time will have taken it's toll and Tir fades away.
