Ah, Kat...and Kat's Mom...doesn't it seem sometimes as if your highs (Katerra and Nyles' engagement) are always being cut by terrible lows? I do hope your mother/grandmother had a safe and peaceful passage beyond the veil, but remember that your dearly departed are never far away...just in the next room.
And I know how you feel...my paternal grandmother was the last of my four grands to pass on, two weeks before Christmas '94. I remember being very sad, but also relieved; she'd been ill for years.
And always keep in mind that your paths will one day cross again, somewhere in the starfields...
