Sarette .. right now it is dark, and getting chilly (about 17C minimum)((guess you are going to have to learn F & C)) .. kinda snuggle weather for us here, though we wouldn't consider it cold.

The weekend is looking wonderfully Autumn. About 27C during the day and 12C over night. The Perfect Wesather *s*

*wispers to sarette* .. tis lacie's bedtime ...

These are the formulae fo converting from celsius to fahrenheit, and the reverse.
ÉC = (ÉF - 32) ÷ 1.8 (to get °C.)
ÉF = (ÉC x 1.8) + 32(to get °F.)

Hmmm..... so if it is 12°C at night in Oz, that would be....
about 56°F.

If it was 27°C during the day, that would be about 80°F.

Lacie, I'd like to know what your low temps are in Perth in mid winter? *Thanks*

The weather, hmmmm....

Well, this week, weve had;
snow, floods, ice, hailstones, high winds and, today hot sun and clear skies.

Tis not a typical English springtime....

Well shucks, here in north central Texas we just have to wait a moment and the weather will change.
Yep and it will change from Celcius to Fahrenheit all on it's own accord and sometimes when I'm not looking, it will change the other way around too.
...........hmmmm, I wonder if God has to calculate from one to the other when changing the weather or weather patterns. you think? *S*

It is 2:18 p.m. here in sunny CA! The day started cool and a bit cloudy, but it is beautiful now. Hopefully, the week will stay nice! And we didn't feel the last two earthquakes that we had a few days ago. *breathes a sign of relief*

Here in western Tennessee, we've been varying between sunny and mild (lovely days) and just plain rainy (like today), but all is lovely and green in my neighborhood--my folks have the greenest yard around, thanks to dear old Mum's insistence upon serious landscaping... :)

Still a bit chilly here, though it's supposed to warm up over the next few days. For myself, I wouldn't mind if we could have a mild spring *and* a mild summer here, but we just never seem to get that lucky in this part of the world.

Click on 'Formatting' in the top frame.
Down along the page you'll find instructions for images.

Put
\image{any comment you want}
in the text of your message

Upon posting, you are prompted for an image file to upload. Images must be either GIF or JPEG format. Images must be saved on your hard disk. Your browser must support form-based file upload (Netscape Navigator 2.0+ and Internet Explorer 4.0+ support this; IE 3.02 will also work provided that you have installed the file upload patch).

In other words, the message that you type does not contain the picture or refer to any specific picture. It simply includes a tag to say that you want to upload a picture. When the server sees the \image{} tag, it will prompt you for the location of the picture on your PC. You must give the full path e.g. c:\mypics\reallygoodones\superone.jpg

Welp, where I am, which is east of Lacie by quite a way, it's nearly winter but so far it's been pretty mild. I couldn't tell you the temperature - about 10C or maybe less now? And at the time I am writing this it is 4.15 in the afternoon.
Our weather is very changeable - we can anticipate frost, rain, snow and clear sunshine all on the same day in the winter.!!

Another pleasant sunny day in my hometown; yesterday was overcast and windy and there's been quite a bit of rain lately. But so far, we've been lucky--2 years ago, it seemed as though winter went right into summer and gave spring a total miss. They say '95 was the hottest summer of the last decade, but I would argue with that and say '98 was much worse. And last summer was very dry; we were under drought conditions until early October (my 31st birthday was the rainiest day we'd seen for some time).

Our Winter has arrived!! The Perth winter winds and rain have begun. Still not very cold, though with a top today of about 19C. but the rain is horizontal !!

Top of pagePrevious messageNext messageBottom of pageLink to this message  By Lacie on Friday, April 28, 2000 - 02:56 am:

Jumm, an average winters morning in Perth would be about 10C (that is with no windchill factored in - and the wind can come straight off the Antartic, all be it over ocean, which warms it up some.). We can wake to find the temp is 0C, but it would only be that cold until the sun rises, even if there is cloud cover. Our daytime temp being below 15C would cause mass hybernation !! *L*

Of course, this average information is only for Perth itself.

Top of pagePrevious messageNext messageBottom of pageLink to this message  By Jumm on Friday, April 28, 2000 - 04:31 pm:

That sounds like our summer temps here in the Bay Area *LOL*....Did you know that Mark Twain said, supposedly,.."The coldest winter I ever spent was a Summer in San Francisco"....Thank heavens for the cooling fog, cause just over the hills in the interior valleys it's 20-30°F warmer. This last is the first Winter we've had here in years without freezing temps, so many of my perennials are coming in early.

Ah...I live in sunny Ft. Worth, Texas...we are waiting for summer. Spring always means tornados and we just had one a month ago that went right down the middle of downtown. Very scary, with lives lost! We texans always hold our breath in the spring.

Top of pagePrevious messageNext messageBottom of pageLink to this message  By Cbleidd on Tuesday, May 2, 2000 - 08:12 am:

We've had tornadoes here in the middle of winter--I remember hearing the storm-warning sirens one night in January of '99 just before some twisters ripped through eastern Shelby County. And in December of '94, one tore through the suburb Germantown, tearing up a high school out there. Nashville has been hit in recent years, too. The ferocity of some of our local storms is just amazing sometimes. Today was mostly overcast and rainy (intermittently rainy); it's getting hotter now, too, as summer in the Mid-South approaches.

May 8th here, which means more encroaching summer weather...and other Southerners (of the U.S.A.) will know exactly what I'm talking about. It ain't the heat, it's the humidity...well, actually...it's also the heat. We're already starting to see highs in the 80s; but round here, August (not April) is the cruelest month (T.S. Eliot never spent any time in Tennessee, obviously).
Sarette: Just curious, but whereabouts in the U.S. do you live?

Top of pagePrevious messageNext messageBottom of pageLink to this message  By Celt on Tuesday, May 9, 2000 - 03:32 am:

Jaysus, here it is only May 8th in Chicago, much farther north than Cbleidd, and already I'm sweating profusely in this 85F heat! Ah well...tis Chicago weather...we get about two weeks of spring and autumn, then the rest of the year it's either forty below zero, or hot enough to fry an egg on the street....LOL
(As they say, everyone talks about the weather, but no one ever does anything about it...)

Ah, Shytown, the Windy City, Pig Stealer for the world (wasn't that what Carl Sandburg called Chicago?)...vast urban concrete jungle. But you want a really hot city in the summer, Celt? Try New Orleans, my hometown from 1981 to 1993, where it really IS the humidity, 24/7/365! N.O. had to be the only place I know of where you could have 100% humidity and still no rain falling. And worse, I can remember nights when the air was so thick, you could smell all the garbage in the city! YECCH...and our air conditioning seemed to break down at least once every summer... Now I live in Memphis, much like being punished for the same crime twice!

It's full-blown summer here in Tennessee--and Memphis is not terribly hot (we're looking at highs in the low to mid-80s this week), but damn it's humid. We had a thunderstorm earlier tonight while I was at work, actually started raining while I was on the way there. Hasn't been as dry as last summer was, thank the Gods. Think you could handle some of this hot, steamy, sticky weather, LS?
