Jaysus, there's an interest aye? Mac, your coming up seriously? ROCK, you told me NO WAY were you coming down? What's up man? Up putting you on the spot!!! *grins* Call me!!.... Anyway folks I invite a gang to march every year with County Derry. I know, I know, I'm a Mayo man but a member of Derry. Anyhow, I told Mick on Sunday that you are all invited to march with us. The march is about 2 miles long and there is nothing cooler than turning the corner of 48th Street onto 5th Avenue and hearing the roar of the crowd!!! It's GRAND!! But I must warn you, there is no drinkin WHILE YOU MARCH, and you should dress in your Church clothes. Afterwards, I'll have a room reserved at McQuades Pub for anyone who wants to come. We'll have to pay for food & drinks but it's great to have your own space. Let Mick or myself know if you're interested in stepping off with us. dermotfarley@msn.com

Any help with names of hotels would be a great help for me & Kelly. Matching with Kerry and not Mayo?? Would my Grandparents look down with shame on me!!!

***oopppssss** County Derry! Forgive me TMF!!

Church clothes?? Me late Mom always told us as kids, "doesn't matter what you wear, as long as you go to Mass. After all, Jesus walked around in a robe & sandals, & no one EVER told him to leave!". good advice, me thinks.

And so says........... THE ROCK!! Man of Fashion HA HA HA HA........ The problem is that if a bunch of people go up the Ave in denims and sneakers the organization suffers by getting a later marching time next year. They judge each group at the Grandstand on appearance. Dress as you like, no blue jeans, sneakers or gawdy green stuff. Tanks A Ton !!

Regina, I'm sure your Grandparents would be proud at the fact you're marching. PERIOD. No matter how you slice it, it'll be a Grand Day and we'll have a BLAST!!

Australians will be able to join the NYC march, now that they're so close to the US.

I read that article Acc.. No reason why the Aussies can't come to NYC with us now!!!

LMAO .. very well done!! An excellent story. We have a saying here - " Never ruin a good yarn with the truth". The author was well versed in Aus locals and pollies.

AUD $1705 from Perth to LA. Then I would need to walk to NY! I think I will have to wait until next Australia Day for another continental shift.

Lotsa piccies required though, guys.

Are you going to be able to make it to NY for St. Pat's Acc?

I did actually start out by sea in my little boat - headed for NY. I wasn't long on the voyage before I bumped into this huge island that wasn't on the charts.

"So! Atlantis does exist." thinks I.
That probably means that all the other myths are true as well, and that the Earth really is flat.

I reckoned that if I sailed further West then I'd fall off the edge.
So I went home.

Ok ... Kelly & I have found by far the cheapest hotel in NYC! So what if there is 1 bathroom to be shared for every 3 room!!? If anyone is looking and really wants a deal the name of it is The Americana.. Hey, what do you want for $80.00 a night!

Hello Tir ! Well, Kelly & I survived our St. Patrick's weekend. Hope you all had as much fun as we did. I have to say to Lad, Wun, Mac, Briana and anyone else who couldn't make it to NYC--
You were all missed!! Maybe next year? WE sure hope so! Tir na nOg wasn't the same without"you's"..But we did our best to drink to you all-- many, many , many times! Mac- we toated you til it hurt! But then we toasted you again! Have lots of stories and saw some **dance moves**that can't be copied! Met some great Police officers, firemen, cab drivers(stop go stop go)and even Ernie, the elavator repair man, who drove me and Kelly 40 blocks when we couldn't get a cab! Imagine meeting such nice srtangers in a big city! Who would have thought?!

Yes, we had a wonderful time. We have actually started planning for next years BIG adventure to NYC. Figured we would stay an extra day or so next time. The parade was fabulous and it was a great tribute to New Yorks Fallen Heros. What an experience.

Regina and I had alot of fun and truly had a wonderful time at Tir na Nog. It was a shame that our fiends (Lad, Wun, Briana) could have joind again this year. Hopefully next year. Have to run...... still recouping. :)

Well, while you guys were freezing your "tushies" off in NYC, we had a grand time Texas Style. Poor Mick and his CSS (Culture Shock Syndrome)...when he goes to sleep at night he sees, GREEN Cowboy hats and asks himself.... "Sheesh, what have they done with St. Patrick's Day, ya'll?"
Oh well, it was 72 degrees at the Texas St. Pat's Parade and there were more GREEN dogs and dog accouterments than ...well... than you could imagine.

Acutally, if the truth be known here... I'm just a wee bit embarrassed at fellow Texans trying to imitate the original....I think next year a parade in NY is definitely on my list.

In the meantime, I see a trip to NY on the 4th of July... anybody around at that time?
