Time of Samhain is at hand
Gather all for the harvest is soon
Whence we light the bonfires and dance by the moon

(a simple start for a bad poet am i)

Any takers for the best Samhain poem?

the trees are bare
and the ground cold hard
The wind is barely breathing
Upon her stone she's sitting there
With Silence she's patiently waiting.

The moon climbs high
to it's midnight Zenith
The Leaves Swirl and are gone
Upon her stone she's sitting there
With Silence She's Patiently Waiting.

With sudden abandon
the Wind dashes upon her
The essance of her goal
for in death she sits upon her stone
And with Silence She's Patiently Waiting.

Time of Samhain is at hand.
Gather all, for the harvest is soon
Whence we light the bonfires and dance by the moon
and trust our hearts and minds to the goons.

I dance by the flame and
face the Witches and Warlocks in name.
My head says no, my heart disagrees
but if I follow this way I will end up on my knees!

........................ someone please continue ....

From off a harsh shore my spirit flew
Over faraway hills, mountains and glenns
I saw strange kind of horses racing on wild fields
Dark clouds and white ones in heavy motion
Mystical mist covering the land,
whispering tales to elders and children about these ancient places
Mysterious cold wind sharply caresses your face, asking, making you tell your story like so many before.
And sometime later, when the gates of your heart surrender to the enchantment that has been long missed, you might even stay...

And as the night continues.
The story is told on.
A story of old ones that practiced magick
in the arms of gods of old.
And these gods now forgotten,
A few do live to call they're names.

Cool foggy night
Hovering in the mist
The entity waited in silence
For an unsupecting lad, or lass to
Come into the hollow
Could it's intention be violence
Just up the road
Laughing and joking
Two children come back from a party
Walking along
Suspecting naught a thing
The demon, it lurks
Planning choking
The life out of the two
Unsuspecting innocents
Only on this night
Could a spirit be so close
On this dark Samhain...
