How's that for the revamped version?

Just finished watching the full lunar eclipse tonight...beautiful amber/red colors and a bright sliver of white along the edge. The moon never looks so much like a globe as it does when eclipsed. Amazing that people didn't recognize it as such earlier, and infer that the earth is also a sphere...or did they, long before recorded history?...hmmm...food for thought *s

The White Sox are our beloved southside Chicago baseball team, Lace...and yes they were called the White Stockings back in the 1900s. Although now we spell it Sox, it lately should be spelled with a U, not an O...for they sure do

Top of pagePrevious messageNext messageBottom of pageLink to this message  By Lacie on Tuesday, June 3, 2003 - 09:57 am:

ahhhh .. now I see, said the blind man.

We are doing well here in the West of Aus with our winter sporting season. Perth Glory (the Perth soccer team in the National league) won the Grand Final this weekend!! Gloooory!! The West Coast Eagles and the Fremantle Dockers (Aussie rules National League) are both in the 8!! The finals season for them doesn't begin until September. Perhaps the West Aussies are having a better year than the White Stockings??? (wont brag too much ... the last few seasons have been very, very shy on success.)

Too much information ... ?? Think of it as 'cultural exchange in an effort to Foster's greater understanding between Nations. *s*

Celtic empathy..........

It's frustrating to wait at the bar with your beer,
and see once again that no-one is here.
The stalwarts who were the Tir Na Nog pack,
seem to have gone and rarely come back.
I think it would help to install a clock,
or is that a problem that the software would block?
A likewise idea, a world calendar,
to arrange our meetings, put it over the bar!
By marking our visits with a time and a date,
we could better judge when to leave or to wait.
Tir is a place for the rich or the poor,
no concept of class when you walk in the door,
All men are equal and we all feel the tie,
that it is too important to let our Tir die.

3. Lay plaice fillets on the grill pan and brush with the citrus mixture.

4. Cook under a medium heat for 4-6 minutes (8-10 if cooked from frozen), continually brushing with the citrus mixture.

5. Serve with boiled or croquette potatoes and vegetables.

Serves 4

Dinner is served, Silk, can you grab another glass for Ludd, and one incase Wallypip returns, please?

Top of pagePrevious messageNext messageBottom of pageLink to this message  By Celt on Friday, October 3, 2003 - 04:49 am:

And here's one of my favorites:
SURREAL SALMON
2-3 salmon steaks or fillets
1/2 cup 100%pure maple syrup
1/2 cup soy sauce
Liquid Smoke (optional)
fresh cracked black pepper

Mix soy and syrup in a shallow bowl, add one or two drops Liquid Smoke. Place fish fillets in the mixture skin side up, coating both sides well. Marinate fish in fridge for an hour or so. Fish can be broiled in oven but are better on the grill. Before placing fish on the grill, crack fresh pepper over the fillets. Take the fish off the grill a bit early and let sit for awhile...the fish will continue to cook inside.

I know it sounds weird, soy and syrup, but it really works...Bon apetit *g

Top of pagePrevious messageNext messageBottom of pageLink to this message  By Celt on Monday, October 6, 2003 - 07:33 pm:

No excuse at all. The Sox blew it, pure and simple. Of course it would help if Frank Thomas did more than stand there looking at the strikes go by...

Prediction: The Cubs will choke, sooner if not later...the Curse of the Billygoat will prevail. The reason Atlanta lost is that they have four ex-Cubs on their roster...another venerable curse. *w*

That simply does not make for a pleasant dining experience at all.

You ladies who have men who cook,...even grill or simply do breakfast...are very lucky indeed. I hope you all appreciate all those 'little' things your menfolk do for you!

Yeah, yeah...I know I'm suppose read from my own book of advice, but I'm not in the mood this eventide. I just want to run away and join the circus where my talents will be appreciated!

A wonderful movie based on a true incident in the 1930's where a child goes missing and the father will not accept help from a black tracker with inevitable tragic consequemces...See it it is good.
