Top of pagePrevious messageNext messageBottom of pageLink to this message  By Silk on Wednesday, July 2, 2003 - 05:55 am:

Oh...BTW...mine is "Lady of the Dawn", a song from the album Tarot Suite by Mike Batt and Friends. Rory Gallagher's fender features within the album, I think on the instrumental..."Tarota".

Tarot Suite was written with the theme of Tarot cards in mind. "Lady of the Dawn" is the song depicting the powerful attraction of "The Lovers" in the tarot deck. Keep in mind, that within tarot, this does not necessarily mean two separate people, but indicate the ultimate union of male and female psyche within one personality. A melding of polarities into one.

Hmmmm...am I getting too deep...to obscure here?

Anyhow, if you ever come across this album, give it a spin, you may well be surprised....it could have easily have been a rock musical in my opinion.

Hugs...Silky.

can you guess the title and group?

Look out my window, see the world passing by,
See the look in her eye.
One more time to live and I have made it mine; leave the wise to write for they write wordly rhymes and
he who wants to fight begins the end of time. For I have riches more than these.

Top of pagePrevious messageNext messageBottom of pageLink to this message  By Rolan on Saturday, September 6, 2003 - 07:54 am:

A tenement, a dirty street
Remember worn and shoeless feet
Remember how you stood to beat
The way your life had gone
So Pearly don't you shed more tears
For those best forgotten years
Those tenements are memories
of where you've risen from...
I remember this song from childhood, didn't know the title nor the singer, but yet, few words of the song itself. Surfed and knew all. I loved that song and still do, got very sad when found out that the singer passed out in 2002.

Never heard of him Rolan, but found his site biography interesting. Must try and find some sound clips to sample.

Watched an interview on the gaggle box this evening which looked very promising in terms of it's biographical content and insight into a musician's passion for his work as a lesser known artist. If anyone has a chance, (or has already read it and wants to share a review...) take a look at Joe Jackson's book, "A Cure for Gravity". I'm going to try and get a copy from my library to 'Cure' my curiosity.

Okay...Here's a "Name Dat Song" snip to baffle and perhaps entertain...

"...He said I'll give you one dollar,
...I said y'got to be joking man,
...It was a present from me Mother"

Song and artist anyone?
