introduced into ireland and by whom.

Nope.

However, a small piece of lesser known Irish trivia...the 5th time sheep were introduced to Ireland, St Patrick decided they were a whole lot more cuddly and well behaved than the snakes were, hence why he got rid of the snakes!

...so I believe. ;)

And then sheep were brought to other far away lands in other hemispheres where some people realised they were not only cuddly but they did not give you a hard time when you were late home from the pub, sheep also never said "not tonight i have a headache"

that would be a NZ'er comment !! *L*

do you know ..... the CSIRO in Aus (so I believe) has developed a 'srink free sheep'. they have developed the genetics of a breed to grow wool that does not shrink once it is milled and been through a tertiary process.

.... does leave one wondering if sheep shrink when it rains ....

...and if sheep do shrink when it rains...does that account for all the rather high-pitched Baaaaa-ing I hear in the fields this time of the year? :O

probably not, silk. You being a NZ'er, the noise is probably the complaints of the sheep ..... ? LMAO .. no accounting for PI comments, hey?

"...one thing is for sure,
the sheep is NOT a creature of the air."

(but think of the enormous commercial possibilities if it were...)

*puts on old Sinatra record...watches for flying sheep* "Come fly with me...let's fly, let's fly awaaaay....If you can use, some exotic booze...there's a "baaaaaaaaaa" in faaaaa Bombay...

I think you may be wrong Lacie. Mr Sinatra said that not ALL sheep were exported to Australia. At least one had the lambchop to try a different curry to the rest o' the flock! You gonna argue with 'Ole Blue Eyes? ;)

The Saxon's came in the dark of night
With all the folk asleep.
They killed off all the women for...
They'd rather rape the sheep:)
