I once was reading paranormal stories(supposed true), and fell on one called 'Werewolves of Eire'. It's about a patrol in 1978 in Northern Ireland, they were in..Armagh or Fermanagh region I don't remember, at night. It's a swampy area with caves on its hills. during their walk they saw several animals coming towards them.
at first they thought they were dogs, but as they got closer, they seemed like big wolves, rather 'huge'. Their leader was 'grey' and the others black.
Those 'wolves' attacked a cow, and dragged it towards the hills. when the patrol got close to the place , the 'Grey' came suddenly back and charged. They shut him with about 20 to 30 bullets. the other 'wolves' came back also, but the captain ordered not to shoot. saving munitions, and they might be spotted if not already been. the creatures carried the 'Grey' back with them. Later on scientists visited the area and believed that somekind of wolves or something close lived there. I checked the internet site again, didn't find that particular story, surfed the net, nothing about the subject. Does anyone have informations?

They probably in fact, let off around 20 to 30 rounds on the locals, and then invented this yarn to explain their apparant lack of ammo on return to base.
Or! the wolves were not demonstrating, but armed with blast bombs and the soldiers were just defending themselves.
Either way it was the wolves own fault. Why else would they be hanging around, in this their native environment, if not to cause trouble.
Here you go Ronan!
