THE rickety old door of the Tir creaked open on that dark day. The wind howled into the tir for a brief moment as a dark figure entered, hat pulled down low to escape the effects of the harsh weather surrounding the Tir. In an instand all of the comotion stopped as the door was gabed by the wind slamming shut behind the figure. Absolute quietness except for that os a small fire built inside the tir enveloped the scene. the crackle of the gentle fire welcomed the mysterious person.
The figure walked looked around the old but fabulous surroundings...samll tables sat around the floor, with a bar in the back...there was sign above the bar that read..."Innkeeper currently out to lunch."
Not a soul was in the Tir at the moment, and the only company were a few scattered glasses spread around the tables....
With no company the person slowly walked raggedly to his small table in the corner of the inn.
He cleared a few of the poker chips and cards that were littered upon it, and some of the post it notes so he could set down his candle used to light his way to the Tir...
the figure took off his long black coat and set it over a chair...and then threw his hat nto a hatrack.
Liam then sat down at the table to enjoy the rest from the long walk throught the harsh weather to get here...the weather had prevented his ability to fly his small plane to the tir...

an hour slowly passed as Liam sat in solace waiting for a few friends to enter the tir, but no one came...Liam tapped his fingers to the ticking of the clock as the minutes rolled on like a slow train to Dublin..."Maybe the harsh weather has kept them all?!?!?" he wondered as time continued to crawl by....
Liam sat and sat, waiting for one regular to join, but not one soul entered the tir's doors that were shaking in the wind..."Even Acc. should be back by now...." Liam thought to himself as a slight worry began o build up that he tried to keep down.

More hours passed...and even the strongest of persons cannot keep fear from grasping at one's heart...the smell of panic was begining to fill the beautiful serene of the quiet tir...Liam couldn't tak it anymore...he ran to the door....he would not sit here anylonger...the others must be in danger...and he neede to find and aid his friends...Liam grasped the door handle firmly with his hand and pulled it open...

as he began to pull the door, it flew open by itself and hurdled him across the room...slamming him into tables and chairs...glass shattered as the wind blew in...the storm had gotten worse...lightning flashed into the Tir as Liam struggled to get up to close the door...The wind wipped at his face and hair as he gritted his teeth, trying just to close the door, knowing he would not be leaving anytime soon...Just as he got his hand on the doorknob, and as his fingers touched the old steel.....lighting and wind both flashed into the tir sending shards of glass, wood, and drinks everywhere...and ending by conecting with Liam's hand on the doorknob....Lighning enveloped Liam and sent him flying across the Tir and over the bar into all of the glass of the bottles...he then slammed to the floor unconsious...then rolled along the floor underneath the bar down into a small hidden opening...then down he tumbled throught space andtime in sheer darkness...down form the tir's bar....lightning flashed around him as he landed on the floor of a large room lit by torches mile beneath the tir...unharmed mysteriously

Who knows how much time passed until Liam awoke...but he soon did...Liam sat up and tried to clear the bluriiness out of his eyes...he shook his head a bit, trying to shake off the aweful headache...Once he became fully awake he glanced at his surroundings...He was in the very middle of a large cave like room, with torches lining the walls...there was nothing inside of this large hollow room except for a small well on the north side...LIam got up and pondered what to do, he never knew of such a room in the tir, and infact it seemed to have nothing to do with the Tir...he knew that he had to get back up to the tir and wait the strom out, so he looked up to see hpw to get back up...to his dismay as he looked up he noticed the broken ceiling throught which we had fallen through was one hundred feet above him, and had no rope...That didn't even matter, because as he looked farther up, he noticed that the hole he had fallen through was miles long...he knew he must be several miles underground!!! Panic once again began to set in as Liam realized what could happen to him...since he was this far down, nobody would hear his cries for help, and nobody even knew of the entrance to this cave was underneath the bars' far wall...He had no food, and no help, he was trapped. He was just about to give up hope when it struck him....THE WELL...if there was a well down here, then people must have been down here, so there must be a way out, especially since the water must be comming from somewhere if it is full! full of hope Liam limped over to the well hoping to see thw well full and give him faint hope...To his amazment it was still full! Feeling his sudden thirst he grasped the stone edges of the water and plunged his head in for a drink....zzzzzzzaaaaaaaaaaapppp!!!!! electricity shot through him and he was thrown a few feet away fromt he well...Liam shook his head in amazment...huh? what had happened? Liam got up and walked over to the wll examining it cautiously this time...It was just a small weel about 4 feet across and about 4 feet tall..I t was made of large and smooth stones...and filled with water that was a little murky, so it was difficult to see a bottom...it seemed to be just an ordinary well, butit had done something..... he was about to just give up until somthing in the stone wall above the well caught his eye...it was an inscription in an acient dialect...he had a little hope, then realized it was some old untranslatable extinct celtic tounge...he looked down at the water in anger clenching his teeth and feeling defeat. He then looked back up at the celtic words----wait a minute...the words were now in perfect english....he could have sworn that before those words had been celtic and carved into the stone. He looke at the words noticing they were carved in, and there was even a slight moss on the letters showing definite age. Nowthis was weird, maybe he was just going carzy and just imagined the old celtic language...but then again how would there be words written in english written down here? there was no way, this room had to have been built centuries ago...this was crazy! then something else caught his mind too...the TORCHES, how could who lit them? and how did they get in and out? He walked over to a torch then just satred in disbelief....the torches were on fire, but were not burning!!! The torches continued to produce flam, but never burned down, and the cloth which the fame danced on looked centuries old also...THIS WAS NOT POSSIBLE

All of this was just geting to weird for Liam...to many things were IMPOSSIBLE...he bagan to think he had hit his head a little harder than he thought...Or maybe this was all a dream, but then the pain in his head, lightning scorches on his pants, and dried blood from his still aching woulds on his arms and legs reminded him otherwise...He didn't know how, and he didn't know why...but he knew despite his disbelief, this was REAL. It was impossible, but he was still here, and was still seeing it with his own two eyes...He pondered all of this for a few moments, amazed at all of this, until reality came back knocking at the door of his mind...he was still stuck and in trouble despite the weirdness in this room...another idea hit him square in the face again...the words above the well you idiot, go read them! Liam ran over to the well and read the wording carefully, then he read it again, and just stared at it..."yeah right" he thought to hiimself, no way.......to satisfy himself he read it aloud, "THIS well is a gateway to a land beyond human comprehention, only by going through this well may you enter or leave The Secret Land Of Akridia." This was too much, he had had seen enough impossible things for one day and this topped them alll, not only was this weird and impossible, but he didn't even get what it meant...what was Akridia...adn how what the heck did a "Land beyond human comprehention mean?" Liam was thouroughly disgusted, none of this was making sense, and none of t was getting him out of here....he'd been here for hours now, and was feeling fatigue set in, along with starting to recognize his stomach ached with hunger, and his lips were parched with thirst...he also knew he was still trapped...Liam walked back into to center of the room and stard at the hole in the ceiling, and out of desperation and panic, he began to yell, "Hey smebody up there....help me...it's Liam, I'm trapped...." There was nothing but silence dead silence, not even the torches flame would crackle...."Hey Accasbel...cleo1, Shaely......somebody please....." His voice echoed throughout the room, and then there was silence again. He realized again no one would ever hear him, and would probably never find him either. He sank to floor and let fear sink in. He was miles beneath the Tir, had no food, water, or way out...and the clock was ticking. All he had with him was his old 45 pistol, oe case of bullets, his wallet, his keys, some change, and the clothes on his back-no useful provisions. He rubbed his forhead with his hands trying to sort out the madness and find some hope...the same thought ran over and over in his mind until he finally allowed himself to consider the imposiblity...THE WELL, he didn't understand the inscription, but it did sa "gateway." He didn't know to what, and it couldn't be some mysterious land, but what if it was atleast a way out, just maybe...The reality kicked in..."This is stupid, I'm mile beneath the Tir, and I am never going to be able to get out through some weird stagnant old well.." He buried his face in his hands. Hours passed as he sat in despair...untill he then made a decision..."The well may be impossible, but I have no other options, and unless I find hope I will die down here...it may be impossible, but it is my only chance." Liam got up and walked to the well, letiing out a sigh...This was his only chance, he had to give it a shot. It was his onl hope. Liam took a long deep breath and stared into the water...he strained to see, but could not see the bottom of the dark well...he would have to just jump in, hopefully the place the carving talked about was not too far, and he could make it on one breath. Maybe his well did lead to some outlet, the water did have to come from somewhere, he had to take a chance. He took one last deep breath, gathering all the air his lungs could hold, grasped the sides of the wel, liftef himslef over it, took one last look nd plunged in....
